Ancient Persian gold Daric coin

Name origin

From the Daric

Darith takes its name from the Daric, a gold coin introduced under Darius I in the Achaemenid Persian Empire near the end of the sixth century BCE. A Daric weighed about 8.4 grams and commonly showed a royal archer. The coin became well known beyond the empire and was valued as a stable gold currency in trade. Darith uses the name as a link between that long history of money and a modern goal: making everyday financial choices easier to understand.
